One hundred years ago, on April 1, 1926, the fledgling Association of Kinsmen Clubs gained a foothold in Saskatchewan with the establishment of the Kinsmen Club of Regina - which later changed its name to the Queen City Kinsmen Club. The first club in Saskatchewan, and 9th club in the country.
Harold Shook, a Charter Member of the Brandon Kinsmen Club was transferred to Regina, and soon missed his Kin family, leading him to work with a group of 4 local men to establish our club. They had “20 to 25” members for their first dinner meeting, and by late 1927 had 35 members in the club.
That first spark ignited a fire in our community. Parks, arenas, and other buildings in our city have been funded in full or in part by Kinsmen Clubs that can trace their roots back to our founding.
Our club has been the home club of Kin National Presidents, District Governors, Telemiracle Chairs and Kinsmen Foundation Chairs. We now have 21 active and dedicated members, working to give our club a solid foundation on which to grow and support our community long into our second century!
